It’s Christmas Bag season! We will be distributing drawstring Christmas bags to our generous donors to fill between November 3-17th and collecting them from November 18 – December 1. The last day we are collecting bags is December 1!

For the past 9 years, Chanje Movement has partnered with local churches and donors to fill backpacks with gifts for children in Haiti. Our generous community fills bags for all the kids at our children’s shelter, Chanje Lakay, as well as kids at CHOAIDS. Every year your generosity overflows and we have extra bags that we are able to give to pastors and community leaders to distribute in their neighborhoods.

This year we would love your help to fill 150 bags. We are particularly excited about the fact that we get to send a team to Haiti to deliver them. This hasn’t happened since 2019!

Here’s how you can help!

  1. Stop by Crossline Community Church on November 3, 10 or 17th. We’ll be distributing bags on the patio after each service.
  2. Stop by our office, also located at Crossline Community Church, Monday -Thursday from 10am-4pm.
  3. Purchase an item off our Amazon wishlist. You can have the item ship directly to us and we’ll make sure it gets in a bag!
  4. Donate to our Christmas Bags campaign. Money donated will help cover the cost of transporting the bags to Haiti, filling extra bags, and other items and activities that will make Christmas extra special for the kids at Chanje Lakay.

Christmas Bag Guidelines:

  • Bags must be returned no later than December 1, 2024. You can return them to us at the Crossline Church, 23331 Moulton Parkway, Laguna Hills, 92653.
  • Please DO NOT over stuff bags. They must be able to close completely and should not weight more than 2 lbs.
  • Please DO NOT include the following items: cash, food, drinks/liquids, candy/gum, vitamins, medications, lotions, toothpaste, violent toys or items, breakable items, or seeds.
  • Please do not include used or broken items. Quality of items is more important than quantity.

Gift Ideas:

Please consider including a personal handwritten note in the Christmas bag, letting the child know they are loved and prayed for. You can include your first name and a photo, but no last names or contact info.  As you shop, pray and ask God what items would delight the heart of the child. If you are able to go above and beyond, please consider donating towards the cost of transporting the backpack to Haiti.
